We’re looking for a full time Sous Chef and an Assistant Tasting Room Manager, along with a couple of friendly faces to work as Part-Time Beertenders in our Tasting Room (night and weekend availability required)!

SOUS CHEF

We are looking for an experienced Sous Chef to help run the Provisions by Great Raft kitchen. The right candidate will have experience in the service industry and a passion for cooking. This candidate will prioritize maintaining a unique and positive customer experience for our amazing customers through great food and beer.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain the highest standards of food preparation and cleanliness.
  • Have a passion and knowledge about great food and beer pairings.
  • Work well under pressure and confidently lead a fun, fast paced, high-volume kitchen
  • Continuous growth and improvement by attending events and seminars to learn industry best practices

Experience and strengths you will leverage:

  • 2-3 years working as a Sous Chef in a fast paced environment.
  • Passion for hospitality and providing a memorable experience
  • Advanced level problem solving and communication skills
  • Interest and experience in beer cuisine
  • Familiarity with industry best practices
  • Displaying strong and professional verbal and written communication skills with customers, teammates, and administration
  • Adhering to all local, state, and federal regulations with regard to the food safety and selling of alcoholic beverages
  • Consistently exuding a positive, uplifting team atmosphere and being able to interact within all levels of the company

This position will require a flexible schedule of 35-40 hours per week

TASTING ROOM MANAGER 

The right candidate will have management experience in the service industry, and is passionate about all things craft beer. This candidate will prioritize maintaining a unique and positive customer experience for our amazing customers. The Great Raft Tasting Room is open Wednesday through Saturday. The right candidate will be available to cover all tasting room shifts at least 3 of the 4 weeks each month. We also open occasionally on other days of the week for private events or special occasions, and the right candidate will assist with those events.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Flexible availability ranging from 30-40 hours per week
  • 1+ years of working in a supervisory or management role within restaurant or bar, or 3+ years working within a restaurant or bar
  • Working in a high-volume, fast-paced setting
  • Troubleshooting mechanical, clerical, fiscal, and customer-related issues during service hours
  • Displaying strong and professional verbal and written communication skills with customers, teammates, and administration
  • Managing tasting room employees, workflow, and task delegation during service hours
  • Aiding in overseeing all special events held on site
  • Managing the location’s daily cash sales, analyzing for discrepancies, and documenting detailed reporting after concluding each shift
  • Overseeing all protocol for opening and closing the brewery securely
  • Adhering to all local, state, and federal regulations with regard to the selling of alcoholic beverages
  • Consistently exuding a positive, uplifting team atmosphere and being able to interact within all levels of the company
  • Possessing a STRONG ability to effectively coach, unite, and develop fellow teammates with a patient and positive attitude
  • Successfully completing the Cicerone ‘Level 1 Beer Server Certification’, or be able to within 30 days of hire
  • Working with administration to foresee staffing, resource, and personnel needs for all tasting room functions in advance
  • Lifting over 50 lbs. (kegs are heavy, y’all)

BEERTENDER

The Tasting Room is open Wednesday and Thursday from 4-9pm,  and Fridays and Saturdays from 12-10pm, with the occasional weekday for private events. Beertenders must be available to work from one hour before through one hour after closing time for their scheduled shifts.

Applicants must be 21+ years of age and have the following qualifications:

  • 1+ years working in a restaurant or bar.
  • Able to work in a high-volume, fast-paced setting.
  • Routinely lift over 50 lbs.
  • Display strong and professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Assist with setting up and taking down all Tasting Room furnishings.
  • Provide exceptional service to all Great Raft guests
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations with regard to the selling of alcoholic beverages.
  • Must have successfully completed Cicerone Beer Server certification or be able within 30 days of start date.
  • Must have a valid Shreveport ABO card, or be able to obtain one within 2 weeks of start date.
