The crew at Great Raft love a good sour beer. We love them all – from the foeder-fermented golden sours in our Belgian program to quick sours like our Chillsicle berliner weisse and Life Itself gose series.
While our Belgian sours get their flavor from the yeast and bacteria inside our oak foeder, kettle sours obtain provider their trademark tang in a more subdued fashion.
We’ve been in the gose game for a couple of years now, launching Life Itself lime gose in 2018 as a draft-only option in the Tasting Room. We started canning it the following year and the rest, as they say, is history.
Life Itself began as a traditional gose – half malted wheat, half malted barley, coriander, and salt. You know what happens next around here. We have to put our own spin on things! We took a standard gose and added lactose, cinnamon, and key limes to make Key Lime Pie gose. Of course, we couldn’t stop there. Over the past two years we’ve added Vanilla Peach, Cherry Limeade, and Salted Watermelon flavors to the Life Itself gose lineup.
On Saturday, August 28, a brand new member of the Life Itself family debuts here at the Tasting Room. We’re excited to welcome Pink Guava Lemonade gose to the lineup! Tart, tangy, and totally tropical it’s perfect for these last few weeks of summer.
Want to get your hands on the newest beer in our arsenal? Head to Great Raft on Saturday to enjoy a few pints and pick up a 6-pack to take home. Cheers!
