Athletic August is coming soon!
Summer is rolling along and it’s still hotter than heck outside. You’re gonna sweat anyway – why not enjoy some beers while you do it? We have a series of great opportunities to work out, have fun and enjoy a little beer with us over the next few weeks in what we’ve dubbed Athletic August. Join us throughout the month to earn those beers.
We’re kicking things off next Thursday, August 5, with a casual fun run. Chef Nick Simons will be here from 4-8pm cooking up some delicious dinner options. On this day only, $15 gets you three pint tokens, and a sweet glass to take home with you. $3 of each pint night purchase will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The Fun Run leaves from GRB at 6, so stop in before and after to enjoy some brews.
Come back on Saturday, August 7, for a free class with Crossfit Sage at 11am! Stick around after class is over; all participants receive a free pint of 318!
We’ve got our biggest, baddest bike event of all time coming your way – the Goldsprints Bike Challenge. Wednesday, August 11, and Thursday, August 12, come out to the Tasting Room to compete in the Goldsprints Bike Challenge Preliminary Tryouts. Grab your friends and race 500 meters on stationary bikes while the crowd cheers you on! Each attempt is just $5 with all proceeds from the event donated to The McLindon Family Foundation, a Louisiana nonprofit that provides adaptive bikes to children with special needs. We’re raising funds for a 5-year-old girl named Kayla from Bossier City, so let’s get her that bike!
Saturday, August 14, it’s the Goldsprints Challenge Saturday Night Showdown! The fastest eight men and fastest eight women from the preliminary tryouts are invited to return to Great Raft to ride for all the glory (and some sweet prizes donated by our amazing community). This elimination-style event will have staggered races for men and women, with the finals starting at 7:30pm.
We’re slowing things down in the second half of the month to let you catch your breath a little bit. Join us on Saturday, August 21, for a free class from Club Pilates starting at 11am. Bring your own mat and towel, and hang out afterwards to enjoy a free pint of 318 for participating and some lunch from Chef Nick Simons.
We’ll wrap it up on Saturday, August 28, with a free class from Humm Yoga at 11am. We’ll stretch out those muscles you’ve been working on all month as we bring Athletic August to a close. Bring your own mat and towel; participants can indulge in a free pint of 318 after class!
