The 2019 U.S. Open Beer Championship received over 7,000 beers entered into the competition, with judges from England and Canada to do blind tastings in Oxford, Ohio.
Great Raft Brewing is honored to once again be included in the list of winners for this year’s competition. Our bourbon barrel aged barley wine, This is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things, was crowned number one in the Top 10 Most Creative Beer Names. Old Mad Joy received a bronze medal in the Baltic-Style Porter division. And our Barrel Aged Old Mad Joy received the gold medal in the Barrel-Aged German Lager division.
We are also proud of our fellow Louisiana brewers who brought home even more medals for our state:
Urban South Brewery – silver medal in the Vegetable Beer division for their Lime Cucumber Gose; silver medal in the Near Gluten Free division for their Carpe Rose.
Nola Brewing – silver medal in the Barrel-Aged Fruited Sour Beer division for their Paparazzi Prairie Dog; bronze medal in the Tequila Barrel Aged Beer division for their Out-TequilYa.
Congratulations to all of the winners and once again, we are honored!
